GOOD START TO THE NORA92 BRITISH CUP FOR LEWIS BETHELL!

Last weekend we headed down to Landrake with the rest of the NoraCRS team for the first round of the Nora British Cup. Stepping up this year to the Expert class, which was stacked full of top class riders, I knew this was going to be a challenge but one I was looking forward to.

The overnight rain which continued through Sunday morning made for a wet qualifying and first race. I qualified 25th, a bit disappointing as I didn’t get completely clear lap in but I was only six seconds off the top 15 which I felt could eat into.

Race 1 was a wet one, crashing on the first lap made it even tougher eventually finishing 22nd. The second race was dry but line choice was key given how the track had formed, I stayed on the bike this race finishing 18th.

Sunday saw a dry day, I got reasonable starts but then got squeezed on the first and second corners losing a few places, finishing 17th in both race 3 and race 4. That gave me an overall finish of 14th for the weekend which I was reasonably happy with for my first race in this class. My riding was pretty consistent over the weekend, still getting used to the four stroke and now need to focus on improving the corner speed to bring the lap times down further.

Overall it was a really good weekend with the team, especially when the Sun came out. Massive thanks to NoraCRS, Coach Robb and all the team sponsors, VIP Motocross and EBC Brakes for their ongoing support and help.
