Positive day at Bushton with Dursley MX for Angelica Bennett

Last weekend team rider Angelica Bennett headed to Bushton with Dursley MX for Round 4 of their Club Championship. After a positive day Angelica ended the day taking the 85cc Girls 1st place trophy and 7th overall in the Small Wheel 85cc standings.

Here is how Angelica’s day went.

Another new track for Angelica and what a track it was! It was a very sunny day so conditions were going to be tough but the track held up really well.

Race 1 – It was a P2 in the 85 girls and P7 in the Small Wheel 85cc class. It took Angelica a while to get used to the track which gave everyone the advantage from practicing there the day before the race. By the time Angelica going, the first spot in the girls standings was gone so she just had to push hard to catch as many as possible to get up the leader board of the Small Wheels.

Race 2 – It was a P3 in the 85 girls and P6 in the Small Wheel 85cc class. Angelica had a great start for this race but it was red flagged on the first lap so had to recompose herself ready for the restart. Second start wasn’t a good one but put Angelica right in front of the two girls she was racing with and managed to hold them off for most of the race but a silly mistake on the last lap let them both past and had not time to get back in front.

“I was gutted with my results but I knew the overall was still possible, the Big Wheel 85cc riders so much of a different at this track because it’s so fast so it was a real test to keep up with the Big Wheel girls.”

Race 3 – For the final race of the day it was P1 in the 85 girls and P5 in the Small Wheel 85cc class. Angelica knew she had to push hard and get out in front of the girls. She got a cracking start and kept pushing the whole race. Started in 1st and kept the girls half a lap back to take the race and overall win in the girls standings for the day.

“I gave everything to this race and was so happy with my result. This weekend definitely pushed me and made me work hard for the top step. I have come out of the weekend absolutely buzzing and in a really good place ready for the last round of the Nora British Cup this weekend.”
