16th Overall in the Bridgestone British Masters for Lewis Bethell

Last weekend NORA CRS Development rider, Lewis Bethell headed to Foxhills in Swindon for the final round of the 2024 Bridgestone British Masters Championship. After an unfortunate crash during the third race of the weekend which resulted in Lewis having to jump on his 125cc bike for the final moto.

Here is how the weekend went for Lewis:

Unfortunately my preparation was not as it would have usually been after suffering a heavy crash in practice the weekend before, not eating properly all week I went in to the weekend with a severe lack of energy.

I went out in qualifying however struggled with energy after a couple of laps but still managed to qualify 23rd, only a couple of seconds off the top 15. In both races on the Saturday I ran out of steam after 3 laps dropping places in both races, eventually finishing 24th in race 1 and 23rd in race 2. After taking on board as much nutrition as I could on the Saturday I was feeling a bit stronger going in to the Sunday.

Unfortunately race 3 didn’t go as planned when, on the second lap, the bike hit neutral as I scrubbed a step down and I ended up going over the bars but managed to push the bike away. Luckily I was just battered and bruised but the bike faired less well and was not rideable or repairable at the track.

Still pretty sore, I got the 125 out for race 4, took a few laps to get used to the bike and finished 27th. Not the finish to the final round that I wanted and ended up 16th overall in the Championship. Plenty of positives to take away from this season, which has been a learning curve on the four stroke, even if the results have not always reflected it.

Now starting to plan for the winter training and 2025. Thanks as always to NORA CRS, Coach Robb, EBC Brakes, all the team sponsors as well a huge thank you to VIP Motocross for the support throughout 2024.
