11th overall for Angelica at Marshfield with Southerly MXC

Following a few weeks off Small Wheel 85cc Nora CRS Development Rider Angelica Bennett headed to Marshfield on Sunday 14th July with Southerly MXC for Round 6 of the Club Championship. After a good days riding, Angelica ended the day 11th overall and looks forward to the final round of the Nora British Cup on August 3rd & 4th.

Hear from Angelica on how her days racing went below.

It was so good to be back on the bike this weekend after a few weeks off. The racing was fierce with a lot of wildcards entering to try out the new layout at Marshfield before the final round of the Nora British Cup in a few weeks time.

Race 1 I finished 13th in the overall result but 1st for the Girls Championship. It felt so good to be back up the front with the fast riders again. I was nervous going into the first race as last time I was at Marshfield I broke myself so I used all of my tools that Coach Robb has taught me, to put it aside and focus on my goals. I felt so strong coming out of the race, I was buzzing.

Race 2 the changes to the track were unreal. The track got really rough so I had to use all my strength to keep the bike straight and keep the speed. I have some great battles, so the pre-race tips from the big boss Andy helped me hold my position strong. Ended the race in 13th overall and 1st for the Girls Championship.

Heading into the third and final race which was the best race of the day. Oh my god the roughest track, I spent most of the race sat in 10th. I really felt everything is coming together but made a silly mistake on the last lap and let two riders past. I felt gutted but still really happy with the race. I ended the race in 12th and 1st again for the Girls Championship.

Today I felt like I was back again with 11th overall in the mixed results and 1st in the Girls Championship, me and the bike clicked together again. It’s great to be leading the Girls Championship but my second goal is to get in the top 10 of the boys Championship so every place matters. I’ll keep pushing to get those finishes against the boys. I would like to give a massive shout out to Nora CRS sponsors DEP for sorting out my full system, the bike was an animal.
