Freddie Joyner Charges to Fifth Overall at Sherwood Ahead of British Cup Finale

Round 3 for the NORA92 British Cup, we headed to Sherwood and knew it was going to be a hot one, I felt excited and ready for this one as all the training I have just done with Coach Robb and Joe was still all fresh in my head. I felt comfy and found my flow during qualifying and was ready to get out there for race 1.

Race 1 – Amazing start running around 4th into the first turn, unfortunately on the third corner my front end washed out and I was on the ground and a few riders were bumping into me. But I got up quickly and got going again, gaining a few positions back immediately. I knew it was a long race but kept pushing to finish in 10th place.

Race 2 – Another great start sitting in the top 8, it was late in the day and this track was very rough. Tried staying consistent and managed to take a few places, finishing the race in P6.

Race 3 – A new day and a fresh track, we walked the track first thing with Joe and I was ready to go. Terrible start. I ended up hitting neutral and another rider out of the gate. After doing this and feeling disappointed I got my head down and raced my absolute heart out! Making them quick important passes and fighting to the end, finishing with my best result over the weekend with a 3rd. Coming from last to a podium finish I was over the moon.

Race 4 – Last race of the day and the track again was looking very rough. The sun was beaming down but I was ready to give it my all again. Great start out the gate and was second round the corner, and stayed there most of the first lap. Tried to find my flow but shuffled back a few spaces and decided the smart thing would be to not push to hard and crash so crossed the line in 5th.

5th overall for the weekend and very happy with that and my performance on the bike. Bring on the last round at Gossington in a few weeks time.
