Great weekend for Joseph Horn at the Northern Elite Championship!

Last weekend saw Joseph head out west to race at Dean Moor Mx with the Northen Elite Championship.

Having not raced there before meant that a track walk and 2 laps of practice was the only time he had to decide how he was going to handle the challenge.

Race 1 unfortunately didn’t start too well with Joseph spinning out on the 3rd corner leaving him in last place and a lot to do, determined to finish well Joseph made up 6 places in the next 2 laps and a further 4 places over the rest of the race finishing 14th.

Race 2 was the complete opposite with Joseph having a great start putting him in 3rd place after lap 1 and remaining there for the duration of the race. This was Joseph’s best ever result since moving onto a 125.

Race 3 saw Joseph moving up through the positions to get into 5th before another tumble, this led to a 13th place and a 9th overall for the day.

Sunday was a bit different with damp and cloudy conditions but these didn’t seem to worry Joseph.

Race 1 was a good race, fighting for most of the race mid pack until the last few laps when he pushed on and gained 4 places finishing 10th.

Race 2 Joseph continued to ride well and was 11th after the first lap but pushed the other riders all the way passing 6 of them to finish 5th. Things were looking good for a great overall finish to the day.

Race 3 began well but Joseph found himself in 11th place after the first couple of laps. This was not good if he wanted to take home some silverware. With this in mind he twisted the throttle, kicked on and pushed forwards passing 4 others before finishing 7th.

We headed back to the van to pack up ready for home before we headed to see the final overall results. YES, 4th overall for Sunday, finally getting his hands on a trophy after trying so hard over the last year. This was an amazing result for Joseph. Well done that boy.
