Jesse James takes his first race win on the 85cc Small Wheel!

Jesse weekend was spent racing at Cotswold Mx Club at Walterstone. Once he arrived he did a track walk and came back with the words I’m feeling pretty good about this weekend Tracks good weather is ok. Time for me to get to work!!

2 laps practice where Jesse likes to hold back and enjoy getting to know what he’s riding on checking his lines.

Race 1 P8
Shot out of the start gate running up front with the big wheels where the pace was fast coming into second lap got a little bit overzealous and decided drop it in corner. Got straight back on after losing a load of places to come home in 8th.

Race 2 P 1
Headed down to the gate in the pouring rain. Jesse is completely unfazed by a wet race he shows an amazing amount of resilience on a muddy track. As the heavens opened the riders were dropping like flies everyone was struggling with the conditions . Jesse took complete advantage of the situation kept his bike upright and charged home in 1st place. That’s the Welsh rider in him.

Race 3 P11
Track was so wet the let all the Adult riders finish their races before sending the 85s out for the last race of the day. The gate dropped Jesse got an average start got caught up in the In the corner . He was struggling to find the pace in the race and made a few wrong decisions and ended up having a knock with another rider ending in him being on the floor.

Race 4 P3
First race Sunday morning, Jesse lined up knowing he was sitting in second place overall from Saturday which gave him the motivation to get out the gate, ride a smart race and get a top three in this race to keep himself with maximum points.

Race 5 P5
As they lined up for race five, you could feel the tension on the line. There was a lot to play for because there was not a lot of points between riders as they dropped the gate half didn’t fall which meant half the riders got caught behind Jesse being one of them. They restarted the race but i think nerves had started to fray. It took a couple of laps for him to settle in and bring home 5th.

Race 6 P3
The track really could have gone from one extreme to another. The dust was like something from the Sahara desert and the pace was fast. The hard work Jesse has been doing during the weeks has paid off as his later race pace was amazing and he was flying round the track picking off riders he hasn’t beaten before like a Dirt Ninja . His passes were tactical and determined bringing home the 3rd place.

Finishing his weekend in Second overall taking on and riding some of the most changeable weather conditions where the track changed every lap of every race . It was a tough weekend but Jesse l loved every minute
