After a great bootcamp at Fraddon, I headed straight to Landrake to race with Severn Valley and Cotswolds. With a full gate, I was really looking forward to a competitive weekend of racing.

Race 1
I didn’t get the best start and was near the back heading into the first corner. By the end of the first lap, I had worked my way up to 16th. Keeping my lap times consistent and pushing hard, I continued to make progress through the field and eventually reached 9th place. On the final lap, my teammate Theo was just ahead of me, so I gave it everything, but he managed to hold me off by one second. 9th place in Race 1.
Race 2
The track had become very dry and dusty by the second race. I got a better start and felt comfortable early on, but I stalled the bike going into the whoops, losing a position. After that, I couldn’t quite close the gap to Theo, who was ahead once again. 10th place in Race 2.
Unfortunately, Block 3 was cancelled due to the track conditions, leaving me 9th overall on Saturday.

Day 2
The track was in great condition for qualifying, but with the sun and wind, it quickly became dry and dusty again.
Race 1
Another decent start led to a consistent race, battling around 12th and 13th place throughout. My lap times were solid, and I felt I rode well. 13th place.
Race 2
By this point, the track was extremely dry and dusty. I didn’t enjoy this race as much; I felt tired and found it tough going. I finished 14th.
That left me 11th overall for the weekend, tied on points with both 9th and 10th place.

I was frustrated that I couldn’t get out of the gate as well as I wanted all weekend, but there were still positives to take away. Now it’s time to focus on the next round, and I’m looking forward to racing at Sherwood.
