Oliver Bardoe Charges to Standout Sixth Overall at Rushwick

This weekend we travelled to Rushwick to race with Southerly MX. A technical track and one I’ve not ridden before.

Saturday Race 1
I got a really good start, second around the first corner. Held 3rd place for the first lap, then dropped to 4th. I held 4th place for the rest of the race.

Race 2
The track was now getting drier, and I couldn’t get out of the gate quick enough this time and had to work hard to make my way through. I got up to 10th and then dropped it on an awkward corner, bending my front break disc. I took it steady and finished the race.

Race 3
The track was now really dusty. Another decent start, but a few mistakes and crashing twice, I decided to pull in instead of making more mistakes and possibly hurting myself, another race day tomorrow.
7th overall for Saturday n the 250 class.

Day 2 – I was excited to go racing. The track conditions were great.

Race 1
Good start. I knew I had to get out of the gate quickly. Came around in the top 4, felt good on the bike, and all through the race was battling between 4th and 5th place, I finished 4th after a good race.

Race 2
Very similar to race one, only this time I dropped it at the bottom of a hill, lap times dropped and finished in 8th.

Last race of the day and my best race.
Quick out of the gate, consistent lap times, track felt good and I was chasing 3rd. I was enjoying the race and finished 4th, 2 seconds off 3rd.

Third overall in the 250 class for Sunday.
6th overall for the weekend.

Really enjoyed the weekend. Thanks to TPMX media for the great photos, Southerly MXC for a great weekend and all my sponsors.
