A positive weekend for Jack Evans in the 125cc & 250cc class at Landrake Moto Parc with Severn Valley and Cotswold joint meeting ending on a high with third spot on the podium.
Here is how Jack’s weekend went below.
The 125cc and 250cc combined class was stacked once again. Conditions were fast and the weather was hot. Jack’s starts were decent throughout the weekend with his lap times being consistent across most of the races and managed to get the crashes out of the way after the second race on Saturday.
Saturday racing got underway and the first race was the worst race of the weekend for Jack. He got into 2nd place, fell off, got back up and back into 2nd. Unfortunately he crashed again and had to stop twice, meaning he finished the moto in 8th.
The gates dropped for the second race of the day and a decent start again for Jack and was running in 2nd but got caught up with a back marker and cross rutted causing Jack to go off the track. This then allowed two riders behind him to get on his back wheel after he managed to pull a good gap from them earlier in the race. A few mistakes later on in the moto resulted in the riders passing. The last lap was upon the riders and Jack unfortunately crashed on the whoops which destroyed the rear wheel and throttle body. Jack managed to ride the last lap with twisted bars and no front brake, finishing the race in 4th. Luckily his dad was on hand and fixed the bike in time for the third race.
The third and final race for Saturday and was a good one for Jack where he crossed the finish line in 3rd.
Sunday was upon the riders and three races to complete before the podium presentation. The green flag was raised, the 15 second board was shown, 5 seconds and the gates dropped. Once again Jack managed a good start and was consistent throughout the moto with his lap times, crossing the chequered flag in 4th.
The second race on Sunday was the best race of the weekend, Jack maintained the same lap times as the leader and took second place as the chequered flag was waved.
The sun was beaming for the third and final race. Track conditions were sketchy and dry, so Jack took it steady and rode to finish in 5th place.
“Took away the 3rd place trophy for the overall for the weekend, so really happy with my racing and results. Now looking forward to the final round of the Nora Cup at Marshfield next weekend. Thanks, as always to the Nora Team, Team Sponsors and personal sponsors for all their support.”
