Harley Pastoor headed to Sherwood for the annual WRMXC Northern Challenge event on September 28th and 29th. Competing for the White Rose MXC Team, Harley put his all into each moto for the team.
Here is how the weekend went for Harley.
This event was more like a national with some of the top riders entered across the various teams competing.
Race 1 – I had a great start, pushed hard with some awesome riding, I kept up with the faster riders for as long as possible and finished the race in 7th out of 40.
Race 2 – Another great start, running 5th when went down on a bad corner but managed to pull some places back to finish 13th.
Race 3 – I got the holeshot, rode well but the track was rough at this stage of the day and my fitness showed. Ending the race in 10th.
Sunday
Race 4 – I took the holeshot again and rode awesome, race went well finishing 6th over the finish line.
Race 5 – I had a puncture in holding pen, so quick pit stop before the gate dropped. Great start close to a holeshot , rode well and was pumped up for it. I was running a comfortable 5th when the bike let go and engine locked up so has to DNF, but that’s racing.
Positives from the weekend, great starts ran with the best and improving every week.
