Strong Performance Sees Jesse James Finish 9th Overall At Landrake

After an incredible boot camp with the NORA CRS Development Race Team, being coached by Coach Robb from the USA and Joe Clayton, I came into the race weekend feeling reinvigorated and ready to put everything I’d learned into practice.

Qualifying – After nearly missing qualifying, I hit the track with just one lap to put in a good time and managed to secure P11.

Race 1 – I got a decent start, but Landrake is a demanding track that quickly develops deep ruts. With a packed line-up, every position had to be earned. I battled my way through the field to finish P8.

Race 2 – With the first race behind me, I felt much more comfortable on the track. The weather was extremely hot, and the circuit became incredibly dusty, making visibility really difficult. I kept fighting until the chequered flag and finished P9.

Unfortunately, the meeting ran out of time, so the third block of racing was cancelled. It was disappointing not to get another race on Saturday.

Sunday – Club Championship Points Day

Race 3 – The track had been watered overnight, and a little drizzle made conditions much better. I knew I needed a strong result to keep my Championship hopes alive, as I was sitting 7th overall. I was locked in a great battle with 8th and 9th when a back marker, with nothing to lose, hit me from behind unseating me. I lost two places on the final corner and crossed the line in P9, but still scored valuable points and finished 2nd for my club.

Race 4 – The dust was unbelievable. I had a terrible start and was almost last into the first corner. I put my head down and started carving my way through the pack, only to realise I had a puncture in my front tyre. Despite that kept pushing all the way to another P9 finish and 2nd in club. They ended the day again with only 2 races as the dust had become dangerous for the riders so it was a frustrating end to the day.

Overall, I had a fantastic weekend and was really pleased to put everything I learned at the NORA CRS Development Race Team boot camp into practice. A huge thank you to Coach Robb and Joe Clayton for all the guidance and support. Now it’s time to focus on Round 3 of the British Cup at Sherwood Motocross Park.
