After a mega two days at boot camp with all the NORA CRS team including Coach Robb coming over from America I headed to Landrake to race with Severn Valley and Cotswold Club.

Saturday I woke up, sun shining, and the weather was awesome!
Went out in practice and managed the second fastest lap for Big Wheel 85cc class. Enjoyed the track and put in place what I had learnt at NORA CRS Boot Camp with Joe and Coach Robb.
Race 1 – gate didn’t drop, so last off the start. Managed to make up a few spaces by the time I got to the second jump they had watered the hill and I slid off the bike and got stuck near the top of the hill. I struggled to pick up my bike and kept falling down and the bike was sliding down the hill. Managed to finally get on my bike! Had to pull over a couple of times as handlebars were bent, ended up coming away with a 17th.

Race 2 – went to the outside gate for the start, ended up at the back again coming through to first corner in 26th. Managed to make a few good passes on some jumps, corners, and the straights. Put into practice what Coach Robb and Joe taught me at boot camp that week. Made my way through finishing 13th. Only 2 blocks of racing due to track conditions.
Only 2 blocks of racing again for the Sunday. Went out in practice, got the feel of the track, and ruts. Qualified 11th.

Race 1 – had a better start but not the best! Enjoyed making my way through the pack and really pushing myself, coming away with a 7th.
Race 2 – had a really good start coming out the gate in top 10. Made my way through the pack again finishing 4th.
Overall I’m pleased with race 2 on Sunday but disappointed with Saturday’s racing. I need to work on my starts ready for next week racing.
