It was a busy weekend for the NORA CRS Development Team, with four of the team at Oxford Moto Parc for the NPC – Pro MX Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels and Angelica competing in the rounds 2 & 3 of the Hampshire Motocross Club Championship at Little Silver.
Here is how the weekend went from Angelica’s perspective.
This weekend we took to Little Silver with Hampshire Mx for our first two day meeting of the year.
I am a massive fan of Little Silver I really like the track, coming up to the event there was a lot of uncertainty with the weather, thinking there was a lot of rain on the way so not much water was put down prior to Saturday. None of the predicted rain arrived which meant for some really dry racing on Saturday with a stark contrast of a really well watered track on Sunday meaning a lot of racing lines and some mega ruts for the second day of racing.

Saturday
Race 1 – 4th
I really struggled to find my flow all morning Saturday, this race being right in the middle of that, I pushed for the race but something didn’t feel right so couldn’t push as hard as I wanted too.
Race 2 – 4th
Change of bike ready for this race so I was ready and feeling more comfortable the the start gates broke for this race so we had a flag start. I was a bit flustered and not ready for when the flag was put up, because of that I started absolutely dead last and because of the lack of watering the track was one line making passing hard! I pushed from start to finish and kept battling but couldn’t quite make it up to 3rd before the finish flag arrived.
Race 3 – 3rd
The gates were still broken but this time I was ready for the flag I had a cracking start almost taking the holeshot and I made it work for me.i felt strong the whole race and felt myself. I pushed right to the end and finished in 3rd place.

Sunday
Race 1 – 3rd
The track was totally different from the day before, I loved it! Felt great on the track and was pushing hard for the race. Felt like myself for the first time in ages and brought home 3rd.
Race 2 – 5th
Not really sure what happened on this race. My head went on the line and I made some big mistakes then overrode it the whole race which made it worse. Came back really disappointed in myself and had to really sort my head out before going back out again.
Race 3 – 3rd
I saved the best until last!! This race was the best of the weekend, I knew I had it in me and for the first time all weekend I was really pushing and could see second place in front of me. I tried everything to catch but didn’t have enough time and there were too many BWs to pass in between! Regardless was really happy with this race just need to sort myself out and make that consistent.

3rd overall both days
All in all it was another up and down weekend. I have been really struggling with my head the start of this season and I need to do something to sort that out. I know what I’m capable of but I am not riding to my potential at the moment. Back to another weekend off of racing so preparing for the next round of Hampshire in a couple of weeks. 2 weeks to sort my head out and push on for some better results at Brookthorpe.
