Tough weekend at Brookthorpe for Jack Evans

Last weekend didn’t end well for NORA CRS Development rider Jack Evans at Brookthorpe with Severn Valley Schoolboy Motocross Club with a trip to Gloucester Hospital following a crash during the third race of the weekend.

Here is how the weekend went for Jack below.

After the hectic summer of travelling all over the country, it was good to have a local meeting at Brookthorpe this weekend. Saturday Qualifying – went out on my 125cc and qualified 1st . Race 1 – I had a bad start up against the 250s, but got into 2nd place quickly. Crashed 3 laps from the end and lost a couple of places, but managed to pass them back and finished in 2nd.

Race 2 I had a better start, struggled to keep up with the leader, as I was still on my 125cc, but managed to get 2nd place when the chequered flag dropped.

Race 3 I went out on my 250cc and pulled the holeshot and kept the lead. Managed to get a bit of a gap from 2nd place before I slightly cross rutted on a ski jump, which pulled me to the edge of the track. I clipped the bank and went over the bars, landing on my arm. Even though I was in agony, I knew I had to pick the bike up as it was in the middle of the track. Somehow, I managed to pull the clutch in and ride down to the medic van, where I was assessed and the initial verdict was I had possibly broken my wrist. After this I went to Gloucester Hospital, X-Rayed and a fracture in my wrist was detected, so I now have a cast for a few weeks until I go to the hospital again.

Such a shame, as I was on fire, but if this was going to happen, it was the best time of the year now that I have completed most of my Championships and have a time to make a full recovery over the winter. Looking forward to coming back fighting in 2025! Thanks, as always to the NORA CRS team and all my sponsors.
