Sunday 27th October saw the third round of the Wilden MXC Winter Series. Team rider Reuben McNally made the trip to Polesworth to continue the series battle. Here is how the days racing went for Reuben.
I did a track walk with mum to check where it was likely to flood and I was looking forward to this race as I like this track. Things didn’t go to plan as I crashed on the warmup lap. At the bottom of the track it had a lot of surface water and slop, which I struggled to get my bike out. Even my dad along with 4 others struggled. I managed to get back to the gate to start the race and started well pushing hard but crashed in the same place, along with a few other bikes. I got back on to finish in 12th.
Race 2 the track organisers scraped the bottom of the track which made for a better race. I was going well, pushing hard but lost the front and I went over the bars giving me a dead leg. I got back on but struggled and I had to stop to straighten the bars as the wheel was twisted and finished 15th.
Race 3 was my best race I had. I pushed through and felt good managed to get in to 11th and stay there to finish 12th overall for the days racing.
