JACK EVANS TOOK TO SHERWOOD AT THE WEEKEND!

First time back on the bike in a couple of weeks, but first time racing this season at Sherwood.
Saturday was a practice day, which was great to get grips with the really tough track.

Race 1 – on Sunday – had a terrible start because they held the gate and I almost hit it. I had to pull back, so I went round the first corner around 30th place, which was a nightmare for me. I managed to pull through the pack to 6th position. My lap times were really similar to the other 125 riders ahead of me.

Race 2 – I had a much better start compared to the first race. However, I was still outside the top 10 going round the first corner. I managed to get to 7th place before the red flag came out on the 2nd lap. Hoping for a re-run, we all went back to the gate, but they decided not to re-run the race, which was a real shame.

Race 3 – I didn’t go out for the last race. It was already past 4pm with 4 more races to go, and we needed to get home as I’m starting my mocks on Monday.

All-in-all, I’m really happy with how I rode (apart from my starts). The track was quite intense, but I could tell that the winter fitness and training with Coach Robb is really paying off.
