Busy weekend for Jack Evans at the Fastest 40 and Ringwood MXC!

Travelled loads of miles this weekend to compete in 2 events- Saturday was the Fastest 40 at Preston Docks and Sunday was Ringwood Club at Brookthorpe

Saturday
Leaving home at 5am on Saturday morning, we doive up to Preston Docks to compete in the Fastest 40.
Both Adults and Youth were racing together in the 125cc class so I knew it was going to be fast!

Qualifying – P23 (P16 in the Youth class)
Race 1- got pinched off the start and finished 21st in the race- P16 in the Youth 125cc class
Race 2 – gated in 15th and did the first lap, moving up to 14th place.
I managed to hold on to 14th for pretty much all of the race but crashed in a corner in the 22nd minute, causing me to lose a couple of places.
Finished P16, P11 in the youth.

Overall finished P11 in the youth which I was really happy with.
20 mins plus 2 laps in blistering heat took a toll on me, but my fitness carried me through, as I was coming in on 27 mins. And it was great to see Stephen Sword there too.
I gave 100% effort and was pleased with my results.

Sunday
Nice local meeting at Brookthorpe.
Race 1 – start was OK and I was running in 3rd place when a red flag called the rest of the race off
Race 2 – great start and was pushing for the lead when unfortunately I had a bike malfunction so DNF
Race 2 – Dad fixed the bike and we wanted to check the bike was ok.
I gated in 2nd, but dumped the bike in the 2nd corner of the first lap. Had a really strong ride back to 3rd

Really enjoyed the weather this weekend- hope the summer is here to stay! Really grateful to Dad for doing the mammoth road trip to Preston docks and back on Saturday.
Hopefully the bike is now fixed and I can shift this horrendous cough and cold ready for more GCSEs this week and racing at the weekend.

Thanks, as always, to all my sponsors.
