Another great weekend for Angelica Bennett at Southerly MXC!

This weekend we had round 2 of the southerly championship that took place at little silver. Was so good to finally have a sunny round can’t believe the first one is half way through May!!

Race 1 – P13 mixed P1 girls
Track was really tricky due to the pre race watering so the track was half ice and half dusty. I dropped it in the race but got myself back up to 13 so happy with that

Race 2 – P14 mixed P1 girls
The track was watered before our race again which meant the whole track was like ice for pretty much our whole race. I liked how technical it made but I just couldn’t pass enough people to get me further forward anywhere off the racing line was too risky and my starts still need work.

Race 3 P18 mixed P1 girls
What a horrific race, I took a bike to the back off the start but luckily I’m strong enough that I started upright but was last round the corner. I pushed through but half way through lap 1 another rider crashed and dragged me up the track, my back took a beating! The after that I just couldn’t find my flow, I would pass up to the top 15 then drop it again. Every single lap. I managed to pass 4 girls within the last few corners of the last lap to make sure I protected the championship, getting pat my sister on the last corner before the finish flag

All in all, a tough weekend. I struggled with my head and the track. Now I have a couple of weeks of rest so time for some R&R ready for my next race with dursley at Marshfield
