Mixing it up with the adults at the iconic Hawkstone Park!
Headed over to Hawkstone Park for the Acerbis Amateur Nationals at the weekend.
Once again, it was going to be stretching and up against some really fast competition in the 125cc class, with nothing separating the Adults from the Youth in all classes.

Saturday:
Race 1– finished in P15 out of 39, which I was pretty pleased with, as it gave me my gate pick for the entire weekend.
Race 2 – got bunched off the start but managed to chomp through to finish in P18.
Before Race 2, I was feeling really ill, with blurred vision and a bad headache- just haven’t managed to shake the flu-type sickness I’ve been suffering with for weeks.
After a little nap i went out for Race 3 and managed to scrape P16

Sunday
Race 1- felt much more refreshed and started strong. My start wasn’t the best but I managed to fight through to finish in P13
Race 2 – start was ok, but clipped into the back of someone going up the hill and crashed. Riders couldn’t see me around the fence so I had to stand there signalling and wait for a safe time to get back on the bike. I was out of action for about 40 seconds, leaving me in 25th place. but I managed to get going again and stormed back through to finish in P16.
On my last lap, I managed to cut 4 seconds off my lap time so my fitness is definitely there!

Overall, it was a weekend of ups and downs all whilst not feeling the best. But it’s onwards and upwards once again and off to Landrake next weekend for the Fastest 40
Thanks, as always to NORA and all the sponsors and a bit shout out to Leigh Wootton of RacePix for the photos.
