Jack Evans took on the Fastest 40 at Landrake!

Bright and breezy 5am start for me and Dad this weekend as we headed down to Landrake for the Fastest 40.

Going into the qualifying, I felt my fitness was good as I’m finally managing to shake off the cough!

Come race 1, unfortunately, I didn’t have the race intensity I needed and my lap times showed it.

In Race 2, my start let me down, but my lap times were much more consistent, so it was a big improvement.

Finished 15th overall combined with the Adults, 12th overall in the Youth

Learnings from the weekend:
The long races are really helping as I can pick riders off as they tire and my fitness kicks in.
I’m learning to change my lines throughout the race to enable me to pass people and find faster lines.
Consistency is the key before I can start to pick my speed up.
