OLLY HADLOW TOOK 10TH OVERALL AT WHITEWAY BARTON!

So I headed to whiteway Barton with South West MXC haven’t been here for a while so was really looking forward to going back.

Race 1 – was really pumped for this race had first pick of gates as I had picked gate peg 3! My start wasn’t great but managed to work back through well but still knew there were things I needed to improve on in the next race. Finished 6th in my group but 13th mixed.

Race 2 – start was much better so didn’t have to work through as much but definitely pushed myself alot more in this race, taking a few more risky moves meaning I was able to gain spaces. Finished 4th in my group 10th in mixed.

Race 3 – my start wasn’t as good and the track was so much drier at this point dust and stones everywhere! Felt like I was a bit more wary on this race but I just wanted to make sure I stayed on! Finished 5th on my group 12th mixed.

Overall had a great day I finished 5th in the sw group and 9th in bw/sw mixed so was happy with that.

day 2 of a 2 dayer race meeting is always harder and a few more faster riders, had a great start but again let off to early, this wasn’t one of my best races of the weekend and was a bit disheartened and came in 14th.

Race 5 – amazing start second to the corner again but then my bike stalled meaning I was near enough last to actually get round the corner this made me very frustrated but still managed to pull back and finish 9th.

Race 6 – I was very tired by the time this race come around and I will be honest I didn’t put all my effort in to this race and it definitely showed and I knew in myself I just had to finish it, finished this race 13th.

Overall I finished 10th for the weekend which in the end I was happy coming in the top 10.
I come away feeling happy as I managed to clear a jump that unfortunately last year when attempting it I had a nasty fall and could never bring myself to do it so I knew I needed to go back and do it and I did!
