Jack Evans took on the Dirt Store Youth Championship at Monster Mountian!

Headed over to ride at Monster Mountain for the first time as a wild card in the Dirt Store British Youth Championship.
I’d heard various reports about the track, but it really needs to be seen to be believed – it is so vast and exposed as it is literally on top of a mountain!
Being in the combined 125cc and 250cc class, with some of the top riders in the country and with 20mins +1lap race times, I knew the weekend was going to be challenging on both my physical and mental fitness

Saturday
Qualifying- P24 in the combined 125cc and 250cc class (P15 in 125cc class)
Race 1 – awful start and was running near the back. Managed to pull through to P13 in the 125 class
Race 2- another awful start. Fell off a couple of laps in and finished in P17.

I was disappointed with Race 2, so going into Sunday, I knew I needed to perform much better.
Sunday was a much better day. I finished in P10 in both Race 3 and Race 4.
An unlucky topple on the last lap of Race 4 meant I lost a place in the race, and prevented me from getting 10th overall on the weekend.

Learnings from the weekend.
Again, I need to work on my starts and get more consistency. I’m getting my fastest lap times towards the end of each race, showing fitness is there, but I need to work up to a quicker pace sooner and maintain it for the whole race

Onwards and upwards and looking forward to a great weekend at Culham in a few days time, where I will be representing Nora CRS with my other teammates in the Nora Cup.

Thanks, as always to the Nora Team, Team Sponsors, and my Personal Sponsors
