Positive weekend at Landrake Moto Parc for Jesse James

Jesse James was excited to get the call to represent Cotswold Youth and AMX at the 2024 NORA Motorsport Team held at Landrake Moto Parc in Cornwall on the weekend of August 31st and September 1st. After four positive motos Jesse ended the weekend in 23rd out of 40 riders in the Small Wheel 85cc class.

Here is how the weekend went for Jesse.

Jesse was fortunate enough to be picked to race with his club Cotswold Youth Mx Club against 7 other clubs in the NORA Motorsport Team Event at Landrake in Cornwall. He was very excited to be part of such a big event for the first time, the crème de la crème of racers.

Saturday qualifying he headed out for qualifying and it seems Landrake is Jesse’s kryptonite. He couldn’t find the right line choices. He felt the track was a little too wet and it had made the ruts sloppy.

Race 1 ended with a 25th overall, after having a tough qualifying race one just didn’t come together for him, couldn’t find a rhythm and nerves just took over. Not really much more could be said about that.

Race 2 ended with 24th position after sitting down with his NORA team mates and doing their very own data dump before the next race, Jesse felt much more confident heading out to his 2nd race. He lined up and the gates dropped he got a great start out with the front runners only to be hit from the side which sent him flying off his bike. By the time he remounted the pack had already gone round the first corner. He had a fire in his belly and chased them down and got back 16 places.

Race 3 ended with a 18th overall after the start was delayed due to a medical incident. They had to wait in line for quite a while before it started. Jesse had a much more comfortable race and settled in well to the conditions and rode well throughout the day whole race.

Race 4 ended in 23rd. He felt good in the last race of the day Jesse rode up to 15th and was looking really good until he chose to take the inside line, a decision he would regret because he decided to have a dirt nap. By the time he picked the bike up and got going again he had be past by a lot of riders. He managed to gain some places but it just wasn’t enough unfortunately.

Overall he was really proud to have been chosen to represent his club. Thank you NORA Team Event for organising such a great weekend and thank you to NORA CRS and everyone supporting Jesse on his adventure’s. Hopefully he can do it all again next year!
