It was a busy weekend for Team rider Angelica Bennett with the Official Team Launch Media day on Saturday then down to Littlehempston Sunday morning for the first round of the Southerly MXC 2025 Club Championship under NORA Motorsport.
Here is how the day went for Angelica in the 2025 Team Race Kit and her bike who blinged up with the team graphics.
This weekend was finally time to kick off the 2025 season and we did that in style at round one of the Southerly SMXC at Littlehempston. The weather in the run up to the meeting had been very wet but luckily, the week before was sunny and windy which meant the track was absolutely prime ready for the race on Sunday. We even had dust in the third block!
Race 1 – P9
The first gate drop of 2025 and as always the competition was fierce. I had an incredible start and was sitting in 5th for most of the race but made some mistakes and dropped down to 9th by the end of the race.
Race 2 – P7
This race was hard, I had a bad start then dropped it pushing me down the pack. I kept pushing hard and managed to get back in the pack but my riding was sub par and I made too many mistakes.
Race 3 – P9
By this time the track was quite rough but the hardest part was the sun right in the eyes alongside the dust (in March I know!), so seeing up the hills was tricky. I feel I rode the best I had ridden all day but my results don’t match that so I left that race pretty gutted.
Overall – P9
All in all the day was a bit up and down, but the dust is brushed off and the first one is done for 2025. The track was great, weather incredible and the event was run really well. It had definitely left me with a fire in my belly ready to come back to the next round at Landrake firing on all cylinders.
Next we are off to Swanmore with Hampshire this coming weekend. I can’t wait!
