Last weekend Angelica headed to Brookthorpe with Hampshire Motocross Club for the fifth round of their Club Championship. Read how the day went for Angelica below.
After Little Silver 2 weeks ago we were with Hampshire MX again at Brookthorpe for the weekend for round 5 of the Club Championship.
I was really excited for Brookthorpe, the weather was looking very good all week coming up to the race. Because of the nature of the track, lots of water was put down at the start of the day making it hard for qualify only managing to get 18th place but I really enjoyed the track. After qualify the track was good, but got really really technical with very little passing places.
Race one – 2nd
We had to wait an hour for the first race due to a big crash in the vets and needing to wait for an ambulance. When we did get going, I had a good start getting top 5 round the first corner and continuing to push hard for the first lap. I pushed hard for the whole race, passing lots of big wheels and I could see first place but I couldn’t reach him! I ended up 2nd place really happy with the whole race.
Race two – 4th
Had a really good start out the gate but then dropped it on the second corner which meant I was starting from dead last! I left it a bot too long to pass everyone but got myself back up to 2nd. Then disaster struck, I got a puncture on my front wheel meaning I was washing out everywhere. I hadn’t put enough distance between me and the others so they all caught me and passed me. Overall disappointed to finish 4th in this one!
Race three – 3rd
In race three had another bad start last around the first corner. The track changing every lap the track was getting harder and more difficult I manged to get a rhythm and having some good battles at the end some of the corners got blue grove and slippery but mange to get third in the race.
Overall
Overall, it was a another up and down weekend with lots learnt. I have come away unhappy with my performance, but it has fired me up for this weekend heading to Landrake with Southerly. Can’t wait to do some racing with my other club and at one of my favourite tracks in the UK!
