Following 5 weeks out due to an injury to his wrist, Reuben made his comeback last weekend at Walterstone with Cotswold Youth & AMX for a Club Championship round.

Read how the weekend went from Reuben’s perspective below.
We travelled to Walterstone and I was so glad heading back to racing getting back on the bike after 5 weeks off the bike. Saturday was a trophy day and Sunday being Club Championship.
I went out for practice having not ridden the track before so was excited to see what it had to offer. I took my time and I felt good. The track was nice and I was feeling confident.
Race 1 – I didn’t quite get the start I wanted and had work to do. I pushed hard and at times found myself stuck behind a Big Wheel 85cc. I knew I had to do better and finished 5th in Small Wheel 85cc.
Race 2 – I knew I needed to get a better start and had my heart set on pushing hard but and I think I overthought it and didn’t quite get out the gate as quick as I know I can. I was left fighting my way through the mixed group and Finished 6th in Small Wheel 85cc.
Race 3 – Again another poor start left me frustrated but I managed to work my way into to a good position holding on to bring home 5th. Finished 5th overall for the trophy.

It was time to have a chill and think so I could prepare for the Championship tomorrow.
Sunday Championship points. I had a rest and was ready I took time to try and relax and not think about the starts hoping the pressure would be relieved.
Race 1 – I set off and I did feel I got a better start, but into the first corner I was pushed right out and had work to do to fight back. Working my way through a mixed pack of Big Wheel and Small Wheel I managed to work myself into a good finish of 8th.
Race 2 – Not a great start left me frustrated and annoyed but I stayed with the group but I made some silly mistakes and found myself finishing 9th.
Race 3 – After a walk to clear my head, I was ready. I got a really good start and found myself in a really good position battling with some fast riders. I dropped a few positions when I was put under pressure which I manged to win back feeling good as the race went on, finishing 7th.
I felt good to be back and I would say it was a successful weekend my hand was fine with no pain all weekend and I am just so glad to be back.
