Reuben Secures 7th Overall in Final Round of Monster Masters Mid Week Race Series

It was Reuben’s second race event back following five weeks off due to an injury sustained at Clearwell last month. With all eyes on Monster Mountain in South Wales as the gates drop for the final round of the Monster Masters midweek race series, Reuben was looking to come back fighting for those all important points in each heat race.

Read how the afternoon and evening went below.

Wednesday we headed to Monster Mountain for Round 3 of the Monster Masters. I love this event and was gutted to miss round 2. I love the track and have to say it is easily one of my favourites. Looking forward to being back and also getting to see some amazing pros riders in action.

Practice – I like to take it easy and get a feel for how the track is, I feel this helps my confidence a lot. I got some good laps in and pushed a little harder each time feeling the ruts and braking bumps each time.

Qualifying – I got a good few laps not as quick as I would of liked and qualified 9th in the Small Wheel 85cc class.

Race 1 – I got a decent start and felt good I was working hard each lap and kept pushing although I did feel I could have caught the next 2 riders, I just needed another lap or 2. I finished 7th.

Race 2 – I got a great start out of the gate and was in with the middle of the pack and I felt confident. I was holding off the riders behind but also pushing to catch the next rider. I caught them on the final lap and finished 6th.

Another amazing evening at Monster Mountain and finished 7th overall.
