Jesse headed to the annual Pendine beach race organised by Lets Go Racing this weekend. This is a very popular event, we knew it would be a busy day as with tides coming in we and 3 full blocks of racing and had to be finished by 12.00.

After Weston was a wash out for Jesse his aim was to get on the sand and have some fun.

Race 1 – Hitting the beach for the first time I was excited to see what the sand was like and how much I could push the bike in the compact sand. The bike handled great and I felt really comfortable. Enjoyed the race and put in a great effort to bring home 6th.

Race 2 – Lining up for the second race I felt confident. The track had started to get a bit choppy and ruts had gotten deep but sharing the track with quads had meant the lines had broken but that just added to the fun of the race. I pushed hard even though I felt like I was riding a bull and came back in 7th.

Race 3 – Went out for the final race of the day after having 2 good races I wanted to finish the day off strong. The track was really rough, riders were going down left right and centre so I had to make a few evasive manoeuvres to miss fallen bikes. By this stage I had to make my own lines because there was none left so I grafted through the race to finish 7th.

Overall I finished in 6th place absolutely which I was over the moon about. I’ve had a really hard year with bike problems etc so to end the year off with such a great result has made me very happy. I thoroughly enjoyed Pendine Beach Race, the event was really well organised and I will definitely be heading back next year.
