Theo Brown: Looking back on the 2025 season

We are back with another season review from team rider, Theo Brown who was announced as a new rider to the team for the 2026 season. Read how the 2025 season went for Theo as he prepares for the 2026 season with the NORA CRS Development Team.

2025 was a great learning curve for me on the Big Wheel 85cc. I started this year with an open mind, but really, my biggest goals were to win the Southerly MXC Club Championship, and maybe even win the NORA92 British Cup, since I finished 3rd overall last year. I was ticking off wins at the start of the season and had very good pace, until I broke my collarbone just one week before the first round of the NORA92 British Cup. Unfortunately, this set me back 2 months, as the hospital could not decide whether to operate or not. It took me a while to build my pace after this, but even so, this year I have managed to take 15 moto wins and 5 overalls.

One of my best races was at Bromsberrow, at the beginning of the year with Severn Valley MXC, I had an epic battle with the now Youth MXGB 85SW Champion, Arthur King. We battled the whole race, I came out on top by just over a second, he pushed me all race long, it was great fun!

The NORA92 British Cup

Due to my collarbone injury I missed the first two rounds, so the Championship didn’t really go to plan for me this year, however I used these races to figure out my weaknesses and improve my speed. My first NORA92 British Cup was at Culham (Round 3), it was definitely a reality check, with everyone showing good pace. The competition was very fast, however I qualified 11th. My best result came in race 2 with a 9th overall. I was pleased and I think I did well to have a solid finish on the edge of the top 10 considering my fitness wasn’t there.

At Marshfield I had a better weekend, I qualified 3rd in front of my brother! In Race 1 I got caught up in the turn 1 crash and had to come through the pack, I pulled through to 7th and showed that I had good lap times, proving I could do better. Race 2 was tough, I was battling for 5th spot and but came out in 6th after crashing out on the last lap, which gave me 7th overall, and some prize money. I was pleased with this as it showed a positive step forward and my pace had definitely improved.

NORA Motorsport Team Event – 7th overall

At one of my favourite venues, Landrake, I was finally fit and ready to show what I could do amongst a strong field of riders. I qualified 4th, which I was pleased with, and better still my three other team mates were in the top 10. Race 1 I had a terrible start, mid pack, by lap 2 I managed to get to 14th place, I settled in and dug deep, I had great pace and managed to finish the race in 4th place. Race 2 was a similar start, and I battled through to 5th, but dropped the bike on the last lap and finished the race in 6th place. Race 3 I crashed on lap 2 and was in 35th, coming from the back I managed 14th place. Southerly MXC, my team won the overall, so a brilliant weekend all round.

Weston Beach Race

Weston was a hard one for me, after so much preparation, I was going down the straight on lap 1 and had to see me brother lying dead still on the floor. I instantly had thoughts of what to do, to stop, to go on, the decision was impossible. When I came round on lap 2 and saw the medic vans flooded around him, my brain was still at panic. I had no concentration on the race until, I came into the pits with 2 laps remaining, and being told that he was okay was the biggest relief of my life. I spent the final 2 laps pushing for him, ending up an effortless 11th and a last lap time which would’ve put me just in the top 5. Hopefully next year I’ll be up there!

Southerly MXC Club Championship

I competed in the Southerly MXC Club Championship this year, having missed 2 rounds, I ended up 4th in the Championship. I had some of the greatest races of my life against some very strong competition of Ollie Bardoe, Noah Veysey and my brother, Seb to name a few. I managed to win the overall at three of the rounds which was a great result.

My biggest rivalry all season has been with my younger brother, Seb, and at the last race of the Southerly MXC Club Championship at Little Silver, when we were both back at full fitness. We had an awesome battle, where we edged out a minute gap over third place, and then had an intense last lap battle, which ended up in me coming out on top. It was my first win since I broke my collarbone, and I went on to win the next race, and the overall for the day. Later at the end of year presentation we picked up a trophy for the most entertaining race of the season!

From this year, I have definitely found out my weaknesses, but also proved to myself that I can win races consistently. I have also learnt I can recover well mentally and physically, as coming back from this injury was not easy at all.

Heading in to the 2026 season, I am looking forward to working with the team at NORA CRS, to do the best that I can at the MXGB Youth Championship and the NORA92 British Cup. I think I have a lot of potential for next year, and will train my hardest to achieve everything that I possibly can.
