Another weekend at Bromsberrow with Let’s go racing, all in preparation for the first round of Southerly next weekend which will also be at Bromsberrow. I woke up and walked the track with a few of my mates, looking for lines knowing it’s going to get very rutted. The air was damp and we knew that rain was going to come at some point during the day.
Practice – I felt good and sped through, weaving my way up front. 2 laps and done and got 3rd in practice. I knew it was going to be another weekend of mud and tactical lines, as again lots were getting stuck and falling.
Race 1 – Gates dropped… but only a few made it down to the ground, this resulted in a restart. My heart racing for the second time I shot out the gate, wheeling off the start and was second to the corner, following my team mate Seb infront. I stayed close but made a little mistake and lost two places. Sitting in 4th I pushed hard and could see 3rd in sight, railing the ruts and staying on the bike I crossed the line P4.
Race 2 – It had rained a little before we went out and a slight track change we had a 1 lap sighting lap. I was hoping for a podium finish and knowing this was the last race of the day the pressure was on! I went out for my sighting lap and then straight back to the gate. Starts were on point this weekend and I flew out the gate again, staying 2nd for the first lap, fighting for my place I dropped the bike on a slippy corner dropping two places but quickly got up and going again. I was close to p4 so pushed hard and took them up the hill. Then that slippy corner came again.. and I done the same thing AGAIN! Dropped it in the same place but quickly got back on, a little gap now I had to push hard. I got my head down and was determined not to make the mistake again! I sped down the hill knowing that I wasn’t to far behind. I knew where I was good on this track and could make up the time. Next thing I knew I was fighting back my position again it payed off, and I crossed the line in P4. I never gave up and I got my podium finish that I came for. 3rd overall for the day.
