Ronnie Morgan Dominates to Take SW85cc Top Spot

This weekend we decided to do a practice day at Fatcats on Saturday then treat my mum to a day of watching me race on Sunday for Mothers Day back at Bromsberrow.

We had a really early start on Saturday 4am to get to Fatcats . I haven’t been there since last season and we wanted to get some practice in ahead of next weekend for the ACU MX GB YOUTH. I done the first session on my SW85cc and it was already really rutty but still a fast pace track, for the rest of the day I rode my 65cc as that’s what class I’m racing in this weekend I completed another 4 session and the track was very challenging, deep sand ruts that didn’t really slow the pace of the track.

Sunday was race day back at the red sand track of Bromsberrow racing in the SW85cc class as I wanted to get as much bike time on it before this weekend coming as lately all I’ve been practicing and racing on is the 85. When I walked the track it was very wet in places and was looking like it was going to be more challenging than last week, I was third out in the race order so didn’t have long to wait until my first race.

Race 1 – I was 4th around the first corner but got into third by the end of the first lap. I started stalking second place and nearly passed him on a few occasions, I kept on Huey Samson back wheel for four laps when I finally made the pass on lap 5 it was now time to chase down 1st place but time was running out and I finished 2nd by 5 seconds I just ran out of laps, I pushed so hard in this race at the end I felt sick.

Race 2 – The weather had deteriorated and made the track conditions much more challenging mush slippery bigger bumps and deeper ruts. It was still raining when I was behind the start gate but the gate dropped and I got into 2nd on the second corner. On the third lap I got stuck in a really deep rut and lost a position but I didn’t get down and was soon chasing it back. Bikes were going down all over the place but I got my position back within a lap and focused on getting into first. It was a difficult race I was so focused on staying upright and really wanted a race win, I had the leader in my sights and was closing the gap when he crashed, I managed to hold the lead for the last 2 laps under severe pressure. I was angry with my dad for making me ride the 65 in the 85 class even though I won.

Race 3 was cancelled due to the conditions and I walked away with 1st overall.
