On Saturday 4th we decided to enter Round 3 of Severn Valley Motocross Club Championship at Brookthorpe as a wildcard in the 85cc class. As its my first year in the SW85 it was going to be my first time doing the full track and I wasn’t sure if I would like the section of the track that goes up and around the woods.
I was keen to get out for practice and give it my best shot. Practice went well I set the second fastest lap which I was ok with as I knew I wasn’t going full speed. The track was abit loose in places and the lines were still forming but I liked the new section of the track.

Race 1 – I could of had better reaction time to the gate dropping but I managed 4th around the first corner and by the end of the first lap I made it into 1st. I was feeling good on the track and managed to hold 1st for most of the race with a comfortable 15 second lead from second until 2 laps before the finish flag. I saved a massive jump I don’t know how I stayed on the bike but I landed hard on my back wheel and POP the tyre went. I tried to keep pushing but I kept losing my back end so I nursed the bike home and finished 7th which I was gutted about.

Race 2 – My Dad had sorted my tyre out and I was rearing to go. I quickly made my way into 1st and set the pace of the race. I felt comfortable and the bike felt good which helped me keep the lead for the whole race and finished with a 14 second lead from second place of Logan Lewis.
Race 3 – I was second around the first corner but soon got into the lead. Half way through the race I had a big off but I got back on and was determined to get back into the lead even though I was sore. I battled my way through and was so happy to cross the finish flag with a 11 seconds lead.

My results for the day was 7th, 1st and 1st which gave me 2nd overall but I proved I could of gotten the top spot but in racing there are just some things you can’t control.
We pick ourselves up and get ready for the next race weekend keep pushing and never give up.
