Straight back from a family holiday, we jumped in the Campervan and headed to Landrake for a weekend of racing for the next round with Southerly MXC. The evening before race day I walked the track with some friends and the track looked mega, I couldn’t wait to get out there and race!

Practice – I started out the front and cleared the doubles at the back knowing this was something I was going to have to do during the races. I checked out the lines and stayed in P3.
Race 1 – Holeshot! like a beast out the gate and I was gone, only having the top few behind me, my team mate Seb passed me and I sat in 2nd for most of the race, I could feel a racer behind me so pushed hard, last lap we were battling for second place, he got me on the table top just before the finish, and I crossed the line P3. Happy with that race as I never gave up and fought until the finish line.
Race 2 – Not the best start, had to push for some places, racing most the race in P5, battling for P4 but crossing the line in 5th place.
Race 3 – Not happy with my last race I knew I had to make up for it. Almost got the holeshot again but not long after made the pass for the lead. I was quick on the whoops but on the down hill straight team mate Seb and 2nd place got me and 3rd place wasn’t far behind. Battling back and forth with 3rd I got my head down and finished crossing the line in P3.

Day two – The heavens opened before practice but it soon stopped, felt good in practice and I was ready to go!
Race 1 – Absolute mega of a ride! I flew out the gate getting the first holeshot of the day and stayed in the lead for the first lap, team mate Seb passed me and I stayed with him for a while, I had pressure on me the whole race. I rode like a beast and wasn’t letting anyone pass me. I loved back braking on the jump and wasn’t loving every second, two laps to go I jumped the ski jump but landed hard and winded myself bad resulting in me having to stop and throw up all over my self.. and in my helmet! 2nd and 3rd passed me but I wasn’t giving up, still feeling winded I finished the race P4. Gutted that happened but still pleased with my performance and not giving up!

Race 2 – Got cut off at the start but managed to sit second around the corner chasing first place, battling hard and holding my position I stayed in second finishing with my strongest position so far this weekend.
Race 3 – The rain decided to pour down just before I went out, which made the track an ice rink. My game plan had to change and I made sure I went out and checked out the lines before I headed to the gates. I got out the gate well sitting in 3rd but I had company right behind me, battling back and fourth most of the race I crossed the line in P3. Finishing the whole weekend 3rd overall, and feeling happy with that result.
