Seb Brown Delivers a Statement Win at RL Raceway

This weekend we took to RL Raceway with Southerly MXC Club Championship Round 5. I came away with first overall with 2-2-1 in the three races. I’m not overly pleased with how I rode but happy I came away with the overall win.

Race 1 – An initial good start but some collision in the first corner made me loose a few positions and after climbing up to 3rd I crashed. However I quickly regained focus and got back to 2nd and finishing there.

Race 2 – I managed to find myself on the floor by the second corner putting me in dead last with a lot of work to do. I knew I had to focus and made my way through the pack. I got into 2nd with three laps to go and I knew the leader was at least 15 seconds ahead of me so I pushed as hard as I could, dropping my lap times by 3 seconds becoming the fastest rider on track by 6 seconds. Unfortunately I came over the line just 2 seconds behind 1st place.

Race 3 – I knew I had to win this race to win the overall I and did just that. I finally got some room on the start and came through in second place. I made an early move to put me in the lead and managed to pull a quick gap. I kept consistent from that point on and just hit my marks from there. I came over the line in first place to seal the overall victory.
