The weekend at MX Master Kids Mildenhall was one to remember, with brutal heat, deep sandy ruts, and thick dust making every race a challenge. It was also a big learning weekend on the new bike, with plenty of positives to take away despite some setbacks along the way.

Qualifying started tough, finishing in 21st place while trying to get comfortable on the fast and demanding Mildenhall track. The heat was already intense early in the day and it was clear fitness and focus were going to be tested all weekend.
Race one was a real battle. The heat got the better of me and I ended up being sick inside my helmet during the race, making it difficult to keep pushing. I managed to finish in 33rd position despite feeling rough and just focused on bringing the bike home.
Race two was a big improvement. Feeling much stronger and more comfortable, I pushed through the dusty and very hot conditions to finish 22nd. The bike felt better and confidence started building lap by lap.

Race three was another step forward, finishing in 19th position. I was finally getting the feel of both the track and the new bike, finding better lines in the soft sandy corners and starting to settle into a rhythm.
Race four unfortunately ended in disappointment. While attempting a move around the outside of another rider, I crashed and couldn’t get the bike restarted, leaving me down in 35th. It was frustrating, but racing is all about taking chances and learning from mistakes. Race five was another tough one in the sweltering heat. A rookie error before the race meant I accidentally left the choke turned on, costing valuable performance and making the race even harder than it already was finishing in position 33.

Although finishing in position 29 overall the results didn’t fully show the progress made over the weekend, there were still plenty of positives to take away. The light sandy and dusty track conditions were some of the toughest of the year, but every lap brought more experience, more confidence on the new bike, and important lessons learned for the next race weekend at the mighty Hawkstone Park.
