Freddie Joyner secured 2nd overall at Landrake for final round of 2026 Southerly MXC Championship

This weekend the last round of the Southerly MXC Championship took place at Landrake Moto Parc – a track that I really like and know that I go well there.

Saturday was a chilled practice day and Sunday was race day. Saturday didn’t go to plan when I attempted to double the whoops resulting in me bashing my chin on the handle bars and my two front teeth going through my tongue! but after sorting myself out in the ambulance and with a new fat lip and swollen tongue to deal with I still really wanted to ride and knew how important the last round was!

Sunday- Race day – I woke up feeling ok just not being a like to eat much with my injury but put my game face on!

Practice I felt fine and checked out some good lines.

Race 1 – Holeshot!!! Straight out the gate and to the corner. I felt good leading the way and making a little gap for myself, the track was slick and slidey in some areas but I managed to stay on the bike and take the chequered flag. P1 feeling amazing.

Race 2 – I got out the gate, but just not quick enough and got boxed out by a few riders, I headed to the outside line to take a few then by lap 2 I was in second place. Slowly adding pressure to the leader each lap but done all that I could finishing in P2.

Race 3 – another holeshot and lead the race, the first few laps me and 2nd place were battling forward and back for the lead both fighting hard. The ruts were big now and I headed for a down hill to try make the pass and dropped the bike costing me the overall win. I got the bike quickly going and was running 5th but I got my head down and passed two riders and finished a respectable 3rd. Taking 2nd place overall. Very happy with my riding this weekend, putting my injury behind me and riding the best I could, helping out with them all important Championship points.
