2nd Overall at new venue Hewelsfield with Severn Valley Motocross Club for Jack Evans

It was the first club level meeting of the 2025 season for Youth rider Jack Evans on the weekend. Jack headed to the second round of Severn Valley Motocross Club Summer Championship at the new track of Hewelsfield in Gloucestershire.

With a lot of work going into the new track by the NORA Motorsport organising club Severn Valley Motocross Club. There was a lot of hype to ride this track first. After qualifying and three good moto’s, Jack managed to end the day on the podium with 2nd overall.

Here is a rundown on how the day went for Jack from his perspective.

Practice – I managed to qualify in P1 with a time of 1:44.370 just 1.474 ahead of second place rider Chris Brindley.

Race 1 – I managed to pick a malfunctioning gate, which went up before it dropped so had a catastrophic start. Had to fight my way through most of the pack and finished the race in 4th.

Race 2 – I had a much better start and was in 2nd going round the first corner. Managed to take the lead, where I stayed until the last lap when I made a few mistakes and got caught up with a few back markers. I got ran off the track and lost the lead on the second but last corner and finished 2nd overall in that race.

Race 3 – Once again another good start. Was third to begin, made the passes and lead the race, finishing in 1st. This finished me in 2nd overall for the day. I was pleased with my riding as I had the fastest lap times in the final two races.
