Last Sunday was the first round of the LGR Club Championship for team rider Jesse James in Sunny Wales! Read how the day went for Jesse below.
After competing with LGR (Let’s Go Racing MXC) last year I was really looking forward to to heading to Pendine to kick off the 2025 season. Racing in this part of Wales there is always some serious competition from some very talented riders. I arrived feeling very confident and although the track was wet and it was drizzling. These are the conditions I enjoy and I couldn’t wait to get going for Race Day!

Race 1 P6 – I lined up for the first gate drop, everyone was feeling the pressure and as we all took off it was a bit like spaghetti junction everyone fighting for the right lines I got caught up and got cut off, but once we made it through the first corner I had some catching up to do so I put my head down and started picking off the riders one by one. Came home with a 6th for my first race.
Race 2 P4 – I went out for the second race and I really wanted to crack into the top 5. Had a great start was third into the corner but by the time we hit the second corner I had gotten myself a bit swallowed up. The track is very tight on some corners and passing is very difficult so I had to choose when the best places to make my moves. I rode smart and hard. I had to carve my way through the pack too claim 4th in the second race.

Race 3 P4 – I headed in the the 3rd and final race of the day. I was absolutely buzzing to get going . I was ready to fight right to the chequered flag and go for another top 5. The gates dropped and as we hit the first corner a bike came in from behind and nailed the back end of my bike which sent the rider flying and knocked me off the track. Undeterred I went to work knowing I had some catching up to do. One rider stood between me and my fourth place and I wasn’t giving it up. I sat on their back tyre but just couldn’t find the spot to go until god handed me a back marker and on the last lap I went under both bikes taking my 4th place. I didn’t look back until I hit the chequered flag.

I was so happy to have such a great result this weekend and even got an easter egg for LGR. Looking forward to a busy few weeks with my team NORA CRS Development I can’t thank them enough. A big Thank you to Coach Robb your advice has been invaluable. Thank you to everyone who believes and supports me it’s so appreciated.
