Last weekend I raced at the Masterkids at Mildenhall with the team. I was really excited to see the track as I’d never ridden there before.
Day 1 was qualifying and two races. The youth group ended up having two qualifying sessions because of a technical issue with live timing. I qualified 10th overall.
In Race 1, I didn’t get out of the gate quickly enough and found it difficult to make passes and gain places. Race 2 was much better — I got a stronger start, stayed consistent with my lap times, had some good battles, and finished 13th overall and 5th in the 250 class.
Sunday was even hotter than Saturday. The first race didn’t go quite how I’d hoped, but the second race was going well before it was red flagged. I made a better start in the re-run, felt much more comfortable on the track, and came away with a strong result.
Monday was the final race of the weekend. I got a decent start and had a great battle for 4th in the 250 class. On the last lap I thought I had it, but I got caught up in the group I was racing with and finished 5th.
It was a really good weekend with the team, and I finished 6th overall in the 250 class.
