Last weekend saw team rider Angelica race across three days firstly at Foxhill for Hampshire Motocross Club for their Club Championship then the final day of Round 1 of the NORA92 British Cup at Landrake. Read Angelica’s race report below.
After a long two days at Foxhill it was a 3 hour journey down to Cornwall to join the team at the NORA92 British Cup for the second day at Landrake Moto Parc. Landrake is one of my favourite tracks so I was buzzing to get down there, because I missed qualifying the day before I started the races with the 40th gate pick (not ideal especially at Landrake) so I knew I had to put the work in for each race.

Race 3 – 20th
I was absolutely shattered at the start of this race, the last 2 days had caught up with me! The start was hard, I had to start on the inside of the gate so I got pinched on the start so I was starting from the back. The track was incredible and it was nice to be on track with my teammates for the first time this year. I really enjoyed the race but was shattered and gave everything I had. It’s not where I wanted to be.

Race 4 – 17th
Before this race the tiredness had really set in and with it the anxiety. I struggled to get a handle on it, a massive thank you to Joe our coach who spent 20 minutes talking to me before the race to calm me down and help me through the anxiety. Thanks to that I managed to put it aside and pull it through to 17th, I was in 15th until the last lap when 1st came to lap me and I thought that the 2 behind me were also lapping me so I put up less of a fight! Big lesson to take away from this one, don’t let anyone past in the future!

Overall 31st
Obviously I started 2 races down so to not be in last place was a bonus for me! I had such a great day with all my teammates and with all the support we have around us. It was a great day and has got me really fired up for the MX Master Kids in 3 weeks. Now though I am going to take the week to recover and make sure I am ready for next weekend for the next round at Southerly at Hewelsfield, another new track for me.

One final massive thanks to Gemma, Andy, Darren & Joe who were all there to support us for the first team national. It made all the difference and I can’t wait to see you all at Preston Docks.
