Jesse James delivered a determined performance at Round Two of the Cotswold Youth & AMX Club Championship at Clearwell, battling through the field to secure an impressive 9th overall. The highlight of the day came in race three, where he fired out of the gate with explosive speed, grabbing a lightning-fast start that set the tone for a strong and confident ride. Read Jesse’s race report below.

Jesse headed to Clearwell Motocross Track for Round 2 of the Cotswolds Club Championship. He had some specific goals for the meeting and started the day off very determined. He went out for practice and the track was covered in wood chip which was very deep so when he came back we made the decision to change over to a sand tyre it was a risky move but he decided it was the best choice for the conditions.
Race 1 – Jesse lined up on the start line pumped and ready to go it was like watching a rabbit bounce around, gate dropped and he flew off the line he hit the first corner in 2nd place right behind his team mate Freddie Joyner. They took control of the race until the throttle of Jesse’s bike stuck open but he managed to keep going landing him a 6th place. He was happy with that could have ended a lot worse for him. Back to the pits to change the throttle for race 2.

Race 2 – Another on point start for Jesse getting to the first corner 4th. Raced a smart race feeling the flow and really enjoying it sitting in 5th place, then disaster struck the bike started bogging out and miss firing and then on the last corner couldn’t get it up the hill. He was passed by 5 bikes and ended up in 11th. Back to the pits only to realise spark plug top had broken down so we replaced that ready for race 3.
Race 3 – Lined up for race 3 fingers and toes crossed we had found and fixed all the problems excited to watch a breakdown free race. Gates dropped and BOOM he was out like a NASA Space Shuttle launch hitting the corner first. HOLESHOT BABY!! He had the pace and the fitness to hold them off until catastrophe hit again the bike lost power ended his race in 11th. A broken down stator this time you couldn’t write it.

In closing the weekend was a massive learning curve for Jesse he learned to take the really bad moments that are out of his control and turn the in momentous moments by getting holeshots realising he can get to the front and stay there. He’s come away from this weekend a better person and an even better rider and he’s got something to prove now and no body is going to get in his way from what he wants. Thank you to everyone that helped us try fix his bike over the weekend you know who you are we appreciate it very much. Round 3 here comes Jesse James.
WE ARE NOW CRS AND WE ARE COMING!
