Jack Evans headed to Culham for Round 1 with Cotswold Club!

Culham 13th and 14th April

Sunny, but windy weekend at the power-sapping Culham race track. After such a wet start to the year, it was great to be racing with Cotswold Youth and AMX Club for round 1 of the Club Championship.

Saturday

Race 1 – amazingly managed to grab the hole shot, but  I tightened up really quickly and suffered unusually with arm pump. Finished P6

Race 2- another good start but a fall-off cost me a couple of positions. But I rode well, no arm pump, P7

Race 3 – 3rd good start of the day, with no fall offs and no arm pump. Finished P5

Sunday

Some extra riders turned up for one day on Sunday, meaning there was more fierce competition in the mix

Race 1- started the day well with another good start. P6

Race 2- good start but the track was drying out and started to be a bit slippery. Finished P7

Race 3- changed the rear wheel, wanting to try something different. Unfortunately it didn’t help my start, so I had to fight my way through the pack, which was difficult because I couldn’t set riders up for the pass. Finished P7

Overall Finished P6 on the weekend, 1 point off 5th, but 2nd 125c rider

Riding in the stacked Senior group, with some really fast  competition and lots of 250cc machines was always going to be tough, but it was a great experience, as always. And it was really good to see other members of the CRS Development team doing so well too-  Mitch Conway, Rafe Symons and Jessie James.

Massive well done to Cotswold for running an awesome event- great way to start the season!
