Big Wheel 85cc team rider, Jesse James headed to Walterstone on the weekend for the seventh round of Cotswold Youth & AMX Club Championship. After some two big crashes, Jesse managed to secure ninth overall for the round and maintained his fourth place position in the Club Championship standings.

Race 1 – The weekend started with high hopes after many weeks of mechanical issues heading into three tough races, but it quickly turned into a battle of survival and determination. In race one, disaster struck straight out of the gate with a nasty first-corner crash that sent Jesse and bike cartwheeling into the dirt. After picking the bike up and regrouping, the damage became clear with badly bent handlebars Jesse had to pull off and get someone to straighten them to continue racing. Despite the setback, Jesse dug deep to bring the bike home and salvage valuable experience from a chaotic start.

Race 2 – P9. The second race showed much more promise, with a stronger start and improved pace throughout the moto. His confidence began to build again after the earlier crash he settled in to a solid rhythm while battling through the pack, however he was hit in the helmet by a rock which resulted in the peak going down over his goggles and getting wedged down he had to pull over again to have it pulled back into place. The bike was still feeling the effects of the first-race impact, but determination and grit kept things moving in the right direction.

Race 3 – P12 Unfortunately, race three brought more bad luck. Another heavy crash midway through the race cost valuable time and left the bike taking even more punishment. After getting going again, the problems continued with a blown spark plug . It was one of those weekends where nothing seemed to go to plan, but the Jesse kept fighting through every setback.
A much better weekend for Jesse to put under his belt finishing 9th overall, holding his 4th position in the Club Championship. Now the focus turns to rebuilding, resetting, and coming back stronger ready for MX Master Kids UK 2026 on May 23rd to 25th.
