Jesse James kicks of his 2025 Season!

First Races of the season and definitely a challenging weekend. This was my first outing in the Big Wheel 85 Class. Suddenly I felt like the small fry in the big pond. I had never raced in sand so I knew I was going have to rely on Coach Robb’s invaluable information and the fitness program.
Race 1
I had a really good start but I think the nerves really took over. I made several silly mistakes couldn’t find my rhythm so I ended up with a disappointing 16th

Race 2
Headed out for the second race got another really good start was running in 8th. Was having a fantastic battle ended up in a bit of a tangle came off and didn’t have enough time to catch back up 17th.

Race 3
Lined up for race 3 and it was Red Flagged twice as the sand was affecting the gate drops. We sat on line waiting as the flag waved warning us to prepare for the 15 sec board. Well with that the left side of the gate took off without a race start in place so it left the right side not knowing what was going on. No restart was given so everyone on the right side had to play catch up. However it made me fight right until the end having my best finish of the day in 14th

Sunday
After having a good chat with myself and my Mum and Dad . I was determined to have a better day Sunday. I knew I had to really knuckle down and enjoy my day.

Race 4
Focused and came out of the gate clean and clear this was about getting my lap times down and focusing on my style. I rode with a much more confident attitude. Which landed me just outside the top 10. Finishing in 11th

Race 5
My starts had been great all weekend. I rode this race very well but just couldn’t achieve a better place ending up in 12th.

Race 6
I started well managed to be up in 6th silly mistake in the rollers I took a tumble. Just couldn’t get the bike picked up quick enough so ended up 13th .

My end of weekend position was 9th overall, which I was really pleased with and my goal was to try get in the top 10 and that I did. I’m proud as I had never ridden in sand or the Big Wheel Class and yes I have to work on some things but I am ready for this year and looking forward to NPC Pro MX Championship in Oxford on the 22-23 March.
Thanks to everyone who believes in me and all my sponsors who support me. 2025 LET’S BE HAVING YOU!!
