Marshfield was host of the NORA92 British Cup Finale on the weekend of August 30th & 31st. Our Big Wheel 85cc pilot, Jesse James headed into the weekend wanting to gain as many points as possible after unfortunate bike issues at previous rounds and the final round offering double points.

I was really excited to go into Round 4 of the NORA92 British Cup this weekend. After being plagued with so many bike problems over the last 2 months, worst of all not completing any of the races in Round 3 of the NORA92 British Cup and missing out on a load of points, I was super excited as double points were on offer.
Practice & Qualifying – I felt really good when I headed out to ride the track first thing on Saturday morning. Found some nice lines, we went into qualifying which I really enjoyed felt comfortable being back on my faithful race bike. I wanted to get into the top 20 and managed 19th so I was super happy with that.

Race 1 – I’ve been working on my starts and I got out of the gate on a flyer. I really wanted to finish inside the top 20 this weekend. The track was great I felt the old me was back. Came home in 18th. I was really pleased with that and it spurred me on to try and get into the top 15 for the next race. Unfortunately rain decided to come in and stop play on Saturday as the organisers deemed the track as unusable and too wet. So race 2 was postponed until the next morning.

Heading out for Race 2 on Sunday morning the track was a lot deeper and wetter than the day before but as I’m a welshie I thrive in the mud. Got a great start but a rider went down right in front on me leaving me nowhere to go so as I left the first corner I was last, I knew I had a massive amount to do so I got to work making some great passes finishing up in 17th, which I was really pleased with. Low and behold the British weather turned up to ruin the track once again.

Race 3 and the event was cancelled. I was disappointed because I really wanted to make up some extra points that I didn’t get from Round 3, so after only completing 3 Rounds of the NORA92 British Cup I came 22nd overall which I am happy about. I can only imagine where I would have been if I had completed it all. Looking forward to next year and some amazing results. Thank you to all who supports me, my sponsors and NORA CRS. WE ARE NORA !!
