Ollie Bardoe Battles to P7 in Competitive Youth 250cc Field at Oxford

Last weekend we travelled to Oxford Moto Parc for a Mecca-X round. I had never been there before so was looking forward to seeing what the track was like.

Saturday we had two practices and one race, Sunday would be one practice and two races. The track was good with a few large jumps.

I enjoyed the practices on Saturday. Race 1 I didn’t really know what to expect having not raced a lot of the riders there. I was going well, mid pack until I got caught up in someone else’s crash. I then went back to the back of the pack, finished 38th.

Sunday and the weather was cooler. Practice felt good and the track felt a lot better to ride.

Race 2, a mid pack start and on lap one, someone cross rutted in front of me and we tumbled off the side of the track. I put in some good consistent lap times and worked my way from dead last to finish in 18th place.

Race 3, not a great start but again managed to work my way through the riders and finished 16th.

7th in the 250 class for the weekend and 22nd overall in the 125/250 youth.

I really enjoyed the weekend, the track was good and was pleased with how I rode.

Thanks to Mecca-X for inviting us.
