I headed to English bicknor the weekend with severn Valley for the first round of the championship.
Race 1 – first race I never know how it’s going to go, wasn’t the best start but worked back through the pack and managed to come in with a 9th
Race 2 – knowing I didn’t get a great start I decided to change gates and it really payed off, got to the corner within the first 5 people was running well but unfortunately got stuck in a deep rut at the bottom of the hill and dropped back a few places, bit frustrating but managed to finish 9th again.
Race 3 – kept with the same gate and had a brilliant start second to the corner but just let off a bit to early and let a couple of people slip in front of me, finished 7th in this race.
Race 4 – day 2 of a 2 dayer race meeting is always harder and a few more faster riders, had a great start but again let off to early, this wasn’t one of my best races of the weekend and was a bit disheartened and came in 14th.
Race 5 – amazing start second to the corner again but then my bike stalled meaning I was near enough last to actually get round the corner this made me very frustrated but still managed to pull back and finish 9th.
Race 6 – I was very tired by the time this race come around and I will be honest I didn’t put all my effort in to this race and it definitely showed and I knew in myself I just had to finish it, finished this race 13th.
Overall I finished 10th for the weekend which in the end I was happy coming in the top 10.
I come away feeling happy as I managed to clear a jump that unfortunately last year when attempting it I had a nasty fall and could never bring myself to do it so I knew I needed to go back and do it and I did!
