So I headed up to oakhanger with amc promotions for the final round of the winter series and the 1st round of the summer series, I was a little nervous as I knew I was up against some great riders and never rode this track before I really didn’t know what to expect.
I qualified 14th which was ok as I knew where I needed to choose different lines and where I needed to pick up more speed in the races.
Race 1 – nerves still had the better of me at this point so was still riding wary, my start was ok and manged to come in 10th on this race.
Race 2 – felt bit more confident in this race, decided to choose a different gate but didn’t feel like it went in my favour, but kept consistent and come in 10th again.
Race 3 – as I knew the gate from the 2nd race wasn’t great I went for another gate this time worked a bit better was able to come right round the outside and miss all the commotion on the inside! I was running 8th for a few laps but unfortunately coming around one corner my pegs got stuck in a rut and I came to a stand still making me drop back to 9th but I held that for the rest of the race and finished 9th.
Overall I finished 8th for the day so was happy with that. I came away with more positives then negatives which is always great and would definitely love to go back.
