Read how the day went for Ronnie with his race report below.
Ronnie rode Wroxton with the Hampshire Youth Motocross Club on Sunday, it was our first time racing with this club so we didn’t know what to expect.
The track looked well prepped and Ronnie couldn’t wait to get out on track. The day ran perfectly and was a friendly well ran club.
Going into qualifying Ronnie was feeling good and quietly confident. Down on the start line there was 19 65cc riders for qualifying which we were the third block out on the track so the track conditions were perfect. Ronnie got off to a flying start, he looked controlled throughout qualifying and set the fastest lap time of 2.07 which was only 1 second of the fastest 65 lap set all year at Wroxton. Ronnie was well happy having first gate pick for the day.
Race 1 – Ronnie was 3rd around the first corner but after the first lap he managed to take the lead. The track conditions were prime and Ronnie looked in control and smooth which helped him check out and finish the race with a 24 second lead.
Race 2 – Started off much the same 2nd around the first corner but soon got into the lead with Harper Powell and Max Miller for the next three laps keeping it close. The pace was high and the track had formed some nice deep rut’s. Ronnie eventually broke free and won the race with 17 second lead from Powell.
Race 3 – Was a much better start from Ronnie getting the holeshot and that was pretty much it with him setting a blistering pace on a very rough Wroxton. The ruts were very deep, bumps going on all around the track but Ronnie’s pace held out which seen him finish with his biggest lead of the day by 36 seconds.
It was a very satisfying controlled race day at the mighty Wroxton.
